Paul Clement admits what every Swansea City fan knows as he reveals his January transfer plan

Even with the departure of Jack Cork to Burnley, the additions of Roque Mesa, Sam Clucas and Renato Sanches ensured the head coach finished the window with eight central midfielders.

However, there was no replacement for Gylfi Sigurdsson in an attacking midfield role, and no reinforcements were brought in at full-back despite the departure of Stephen Kingsley to Hull.

Additionally Swansea are light on options up top with Tammy Abraham and Wilfried Bony – who is currently injured – Clement’s only two senior options, although Oli McBurnie will be promoted from the under-23 set-up for the Carabao Cup clash with Manchester United.
