£15m cheaper; should Wolves drop expensive misfiring target for 12-goal bargain?

Everything is going to plan for Wolves right now. After 18 Championship fixtures, the pre-season favourites have lived up to their tag and sit four points clear of Cardiff City at the top of the table.

And a 4-1 thrashing of Leeds United on Wednesday night, in which Diogo Jota, Ruben Neves and Ivan Cavaleiro once again proved that they are a step above in this division, provided another real statement of intent.

But there is one potential Achilles heel that should give Wolves fans a nagging concern at the back of their minds. Leo Bonatini remains the only natural and senior centre-forward on the club’s books and an injury to the in-form Al Hilal loanee would be a major problem.
