Would he be a good signing for West Ham?
He certainly could be, yes.
Irons manager David Moyes was desperate to bring a new midfielder to the club during the January transfer window but failed to do so, and Cristante would be an attractive addition for the midfield shake-up that the Scottish boss wants given his versatility and the fact that he is equally adept playing a defensive role in the middle of the park as he is playing a more advanced one.
Will they sign him?
The list of clubs they potentially face competition from and the fact that they would have to pay a club-record fee for the Italian appears to make a deal unlikely, and West Ham certainly can’t afford to make any decisions on potential summer transfers until they have secured their Premier League status for another year.
