There’s a wind of change blowing through Ewood Park, with Tony Mowbray the man doing most of the huffing and puffing.
He’s arrested a potential slide with a stunning League One season, something that has eluded the likes of Charlton and Sheffield United at first attempt.
Instead of wallowing in the self-pity of relegation and ownership woes, they’ve simply got on with the job in hand, not surprising the rest of the division but simply achieving what a club of their size should.
Promotion isn’t a certainty, but it is within their grasp despite the draw at the weekend.
With big players like Charlie Mulgrew and Bradley Dack primed and ready for second-tier football, there should be no slip back down at the first sign of trouble either. If Blackburn hold on to Mowbray and a couple of the big players, they’ll be just fine.
They will need to shape the squad a little though, the odd player in here and the odd one cast aside there. It is a by-product of evolution, players come and players go and Blackburn will be no different this summer.
As they look to put a bad period of history behind them, we identifies three players whom we feel should be heading for the exit door at Ewood Park.
