It was clear that Aberdeen’s centre-back Scott McKenna was a target for Celtic in the summer when Dedryck Boyata was close to leaving the club.
However, the Scottish international stayed put at Pittodrie and has again been a rock at the back for his side after recovering from an injury.
In an honest interview, which the young defender gave, he claimed that if the right offer comes his way, he is likely to leave the club.
Aston Villa were also said to be interested in the summer and a few days earlier, there were reports doing the round that Wolves scouts are keeping a close eye on the 21-year-old defender.
McKenna was quoted as saying, ”There had been offers earlier in the window but I thought they had passed by. I was injured at the time and I was not expecting anything to happen.
”Then on deadline day I had some missed calls from my agent. I phoned him back and he said there had been an offer from another club, Aston Villa. The club decided to knock it back and it is fine. It was the last day of the window so it would have been difficult to get someone else in.
